FUN HAUNTED HOUSES IN CHICAGO

Special Occasions
When you live in Chicago’s River North Park, you’re living in a city that is surrounded by a unique outdoor setting. It’s a wonderful place to celebrate fall as the leaves change outside your window. As Halloween approaches, it’s time to explore some haunted houses in and around the Windy City.

13TH FLOOR CHICAGO
Many buildings skip the 13th floor. That doesn’t mean there is no 13th floor, but an elevator goes from the 12 to the 14th. This famous attraction takes you to the 13th floor, where you’ll find an entertaining – and scary – atmosphere.

HOUSE OF TORMENT
A zombie cheerleader rules at this year’s House of Torment. She wants visitors to join her undead gang. Will you succumb as you tour this “schoolhouse of the damned?”

STATESVILLE HAUNTED PRISON
Long of the most popular “haunts” in Chicago during Halloween, visitors take a tour of over 100 prisoners labeled “ too evil to die.” Once you’re out of Statesville, you must journey through the City of the Dead before earning your freedom.

FRIGHT FEST AT SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA
The Six Flags organization knows how to put on a fright fest. It’s just 45 minutes from the city, and the family can also go on rides during this seasonal celebration. Besides several haunted houses, you’ll encounter “lost souls wandering through the park.”

CHICAGO HALLOWEEN HAUNTED CRUISE
Take a one-hour haunted speedboat cruise along Lake Michigan. Your ghostly host narrates tales of Chicago’s supernatural world during your tour. It’s appropriate for kids of all ages.

GHOST TOURS
If you’d rather catch a glimpse of late Chicagoans who still make occasional appearances in this world, check out some of the ghost tours offered year round. The two hour, top-rated Haunted Chicago Segway Tour takes you to the scenes of some of the city’s best-known ghost sightings. Visitors receive Segway instruction before starting the tour.

If Segways aren’t your mode of transport, consider the 90 minute Ghost Tour by Bus led by Chicago’s “Ghost Queen.”  Several stops are included to walk around haunted sites, including the ground of the old city cemetery, the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre site and famous disaster spots.
