3 Crime Series Worth Binge-Watching

Woman Watching TVWaiting on weekly episodes and yearly seasons is a thing of the past. These days, it’s all about binge-watching, and we hope our River North Park community members in Chicago, Illinois, will enjoy these series.

Sneaky Pete

This series flew under the radar for too long. That may be due to its simmering pace over the high-energy bravado of other series. But the binge-watching success of Sneaky Pete rests in the tremendous character acting of Giovanni Ribisi. He plays con man Marius, who impersonates his former cellmate, Pete. The small-time crook is hiding in a small town, and Pete’s ensemble cast of formerly estranged family members have plenty of sneak in them as well. Sneaky Pete is available on platforms that include Amazon, Vudu and Google Play, among others.

Billions

With Season 3 wrapping up, this sexy drama tends to be far more about ego and power than actual wealth. Stirring character actor Paul Giamatti plays the strong-willed prosecutor Chuck Rhoades, who is bent on nabbing wealth broker Bobby Axelrod, played by Damian Lewis.

Throughout, there are combatants testing intellects that rival chess masters. It’s sexy, powerful and can be binged on platforms such as Amazon, Fandango Now, Google Play, Hulu, and Vudu.

Dexter

Season 8 of the serial-killer-good-guy show closed out in 2013. This makes it a perfect binge-watching series. Dexter offers eight 12-episode seasons that can be a terrific weekly binge option.

This show stars Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan, a CSI who focuses on blood spatter evidence. Dexter is a trained serial murderer who brings homicidal maniacs to justice by killing them and cutting them up into pieces. But Dexter is no slasher series.

The writers craft a multifaceted psychological portrait about a man struggling to fit in. He craves emotional connection to friends and family as he tries to come to terms with romantic relationships. His lust for killing complicates his Miami police department job and personal life. Dexter is currently killing it on Netflix.

We hope our River North Park community members enjoy binge-watching these series. If you or a friend would like more information about our Chicago apartments, call us today.
