SKATE DATES
Don’t let the magic of Chicago’s winter wonderland slip by without lacing up a pair of ice skates. Grab a date, bundle up and maximize the moment by hitting Millenium Park’s McCormick Tribune Ice Rink. The rink will be open through Sunday, March 5, 2017. Skating is open to the public and free of charge. Skate rentals are $12, and ice skating lessons are available on the weekends.

CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS
If you haven’t had your fill of New Year’s fun yet, you’re in luck. The Chinese New Year will ring in the Year of the Rooster on Saturday, January 28, but festivities will be taking place throughout January and February. The official kickoff of the Lunar New Year celebrations will be hosted at the Chicago Cultural Center at noon on January 30. Dawn your favorite red duds so you can welcome good fortune your way, and head to Preston Bradley Hall.

The festivities will feature Chinese dance performances and martial arts demonstrations as traditional music fills the air. The feature presentation of the day will be a showcase put on by Jackie Chan’s Long Yun Kung Fu Troupe.

A FOODIE FESTIVAL
Are you always looking for new ways to tempt your taste buds while experiencing the amazing eats that Chicago has to offer? If so, Bite Nite is one event you’ll want to pencil into your calendar. Bite Nite is the kickoff to Foodie Festival, which will celebrate its third year running in 2017. A huge lineup of restaurants and caterers will be featured at the Nineteenth Century Club in Oak Park, where you’ll have the opportunity to mix and mingle with chefs, restaurant owners and friendly neighbors.

Get your palate ready for pleasantries. This event will occur on Friday, January 27 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
